TurnTo is awesome. I wish every store used it.
I needed a cover for my iPhone. I saw [my friend] bought his at Wireless Emporium. So I got mine there, too. There are a lot of places that'll sell you an iPhone cover - TurnTo gave me a reason to pick one over the others.
I'd never heard of Dog.com before. But when I saw that 202 people in my zip code shopped there, I realized they're big. Which made me more comfortable buying there. (BTW - it's a great place to get Greenies!)
This is such a powerful experience to see friends here. This is the most promising eCommerce technology I've seen in a long time.
I had no idea that I know 3 people who have been on Earthwatch expeditions. Thanks for telling me, TurnTo!
This was weird. I saw a guy I work with bought 25 glowsticks at ePartyUnlimited. Actually, what's weird is that I now remember a site called ePartyUnlimited.
Why would you not put this on your site?
I see this service as being the next evolutionary step of user/peer reviews combined with social networking. You are not just seeing what random people out there are purchasing, but what your friends and those who live nearby are interested in.
I thought buying furniture online was crazy. TurnTo told me that a friend from high school bought a sectional there [Club Furniture]. So I called her and we talked about it. I haven't bought something yet, but I don't think it's such a crazy idea anymore, either.
